Renewal of the ICCR Chair of Indian Studies

On November 24, Vice-Dean (Academic) Ryan Dunch represented the Faculty of Arts at the renewal of the U of A’s Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). 

Dunch and U of A President Bill Flanagan welcomed the newly appointed High Commissioner of India, H.E. Dinesh K. Patnaik, and the Consul General of India in Vancouver, H.E. Masakui Rungsung, at a signing ceremony to renew the ICCR Chair of Indian Studies.

Originally established in 2022, the ICCR Chair of Indian Studies is held by distinguished Indian scholars who serve as visiting professors in the Department of History, Classics, and Religion.
