2025 NURSING

A message from the dean

Impact has defined our academic year here at the Faculty of Nursing. From cutting-edge research to community-driven practice, the faculty continues to show what nursing leadership looks like in Alberta, across Canada and around the world.

We are proud to be ranked first in Canada by Maclean’s University Ranking and second in Canada and 14th in the world by QS World University Rankings. These recognitions reflect not only the strength of our programs but also the people behind them: the students, faculty, alumni and partners who are shaping the future of health care every day.

Those rankings reflect our research success. In the Fall 2024 Canadian Institutes of Health Research Project Grant competition, our faculty achieved a 40 per cent success rate — nearly double the national average. This remarkable achievement highlights the calibre of research happening here and the impact it is having on health systems, patients and communities.

This publication celebrates the people and the impact behind the headlines. Thank you for being part of our story. Your support, mentorship and generosity make it possible for our students to learn, for our researchers to innovate and for our faculty to strengthen health care in every corner of Alberta and beyond.

Together, we are building the future of nursing.
