Online Assessment Integrity

The Office of Learning and Digital Integration, with the collaboration of the Office of the Registrar, has updated the definition of online courses: undergraduate online courses may still require in-person assessments during time periods identified in the course syllabus. 

I'm planning an in-person assessment for my online course. What can I do to support student learning?

• Request exam space as early as possible and before the first day of classes when possible. Contact your college or department scheduler, following your normal departmental procedures. If space cannot be confirmed before your syllabus is finalized, indicate clearly in your syllabus that an in-person assessment is planned and the time period in which it will fall.
• Ensure any in-person exam requirements, dates and times are stated clearly in your syllabus on day one so students can plan accordingly before the add/drop deadline. 
• Plan for accommodations early on as in-person assessment for online students requires logistical coordination. Follow the established university process, including guidance related to Accessibility & Accommodations Services.
