Become a Mentor
The Faculty of Science Mentor Program offers leadership opportunities that will make a difference in the first-year experiences of science students.
Are you interested in gaining leadership skills and building strong on-campus networks? The Science Mentor Program is a great way to get involved and give back to your campus community.
Applications for 2026-27 are closed. Recruitment for the next academic year will begin in February 2027.
All applicants must attend a required 30-minute information session that will provide details about the scope of the mentor role, as well as obligations and benefits of volunteering as a mentor. All sessions will be held on the main floor of the Student Innovation Centre (SIC). The SIC is located in CCIS near the entrance to the Biological Sciences building.
The Science Mentor Program is a great way to get involved and give back to your campus community. Benefits of being a mentor include:

Who can apply to be a mentor?
Applicants to the Science Mentor Program are required to be:
- Attending the Faculty of Science during the academic year in which you are applying to be a mentor
- In good academic standing (minimum 2.0 GPA)
- Available to attend the required dates as listed on the application

- Passionate about the student experience in the Faculty of Science
