The Undergraduate Research Initiative (URI) supports students’ academic and career development through engagement in hands-on research and creative activities. URI works with undergraduate students in any discipline, any year of study, and at any stage of the research process – from exploration to publication. Undergraduate research is a great way to gain practical experience, develop professional skills and connections, and expand your career options.
Service Offerings
- Undergraduate research advising, including support with finding research opportunities and connecting with potential supervisors
- Assistance navigating and accessing discipline-specific resources for undergraduate research
- Funding programs to support student involvement in undergraduate research
- Roadmap for Research: structured non-credit program to support first-time or prospective researchers in gaining the knowledge, skills and confidence to participate in research. Includes skill development seminars, hands-on activities and peer mentoring
- Opportunities for students to present or publish their undergraduate research
