Update my citizenship status (undergraduate student)
International students who become Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents may request an update to their citizenship status with the University of Alberta. This update may result in a reassessment of tuition fees and removal of the international differential fee for the current term, depending on the effective date of the status change and timely submission of documentation. Students must provide original or certified true copies of the original citizenship change document attested to by a Guarantor, and meet specific term-based deadlines. Once processed, future course registrations will be assessed at Canadian or Permanent Resident fee rates.
