View archival materials at the U of A Archives

Access to the University of Alberta Archives’ extensive collections of historical records, rare materials, and institutional documents. Explore holdings online through the Discover Archives catalogue or access digitized collections, photographs and exhibits. In-person research is available by appointment in the reading room, where materials are prepared in advance. The service supports academic and public research with staff guidance, reproduction services, and access to unique archival resources documenting the university and broader community history.

How to Access

1. Search materials using Discover Archives.
2. Contact Archives via email archives@ualberta.ca or phone 780-248-1300 to request an appointment.
3. Allow at least 48 hours for material preparation.
4. Visit the reading room at scheduled time.
5. Follow handling and reading room guidelines.
