Dr. Lisa Willis

Dr. Lisa Willis grew up in several rural communities and is a professor at the University of Alberta in the Department of Biological Sciences. She works to dismantle obstacles for the participation of marginalised groups in STEM, through her involvement in WISEST and her development of InclusiveSTEM. This literature-based and data-driven initiative provides statistics on Canadian STEM fields and scientific literature on the benefits of working in diverse groups. Dr. Willis is paving the way to improve the participation of people from marginalised groups in STEM.

Dr Lisa Willis a grandi dans plusieurs communautés rurales et elle est professeure à l’Université de l’Alberta du Département sciences biologiques. Elle travaille pour démanteler les entraves pour la participation des groupes marginalisés en STIM, par le moyen de son implication avec WISEST et le développement de InclusiveSTEM. Fondée sur les documentations et données, cette initiative fournit les statistiques sur les domaines de STIM et la documentation scientifique à propos des avantages de travailler avec les groupes divers. Dr Willis ouvre la voie pour améliorer la participation des personnes dans les groupes marginalisés en STIM.
