Educated Reel: Silver Screenings

The University of Alberta Archives have restored and digitized three silent films that are over a century old.  We’ll explore this small slice of cinematic history and share the stories that demand to be screened. Enjoy a unique movie night, complete with live organ music, at the historic Garneau Theatre and stay for a dessert reception following the screening.

Your ticket price ($10) includes popcorn and drink. Kids 12 and under are free.

Tickets are available at the door (cash and credit card only).

Liz Czach

Liz Czach is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta. She is a former film programmer at the Toronto International Film Festival, past president of the Film Studies Association of Canada, and co-editor of the Canadian Journal of Film Studies/Revue Canadienne d'études cinématographique.
