This panel will feature three Indigenous activists who work to raise awareness about, advocate for, and celebrate Indigenous sexual and gender identities in a cisheteropatriarchal and colonized society.
Panelists:Louise Omeasoo, Samson Cree Nation
Louise is a Councillor and student and human rights advocate.
Chevi Rabbit, Montana First Nation
Chevi is an Award Winning Human Rights Advocate, journalist, artist, film producer, and educator.
Katherine Swampy, Samson Cree Nation
Katherine is a politician, human rights advocate, and an advocate for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women.
Moderator:Lucas Crawford, Associate Professor, Augustana - Fine Arts & Humanities
Lucas Crawford is a poet and research chair at Augustana, where his writing often addresses transgender, mental illness, disability, and pop culture
