The World Health Organization declared the pneumonia outbreak of COVID-19 a pandemic. The risk of contracting the virus in Alberta remains low. For more information, see the latest Government of Alberta update.
With advice today from Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, our campuses currently remain open.
Like all organizations, the university is moving quickly to activate protocols and contingency plans in response to the spread of COVID-19 across the globe. The U of A Public Health Response Team continues to monitor the impacts and act on the advice we are provided by Alberta Health Services, Public Health Agency of Canada and other health and travel authorities. As the situation develops current directives to faculty, staff, and students, relating to travel and preventative measures, are available on this website.
