2014 Innsbruck Faculty Exchange Selection Announced

The Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies is pleased to announce the Innsbruck Faculty Exchange selection for 2014. Dr. Waclaw Osadnik, Modern Languages & Cultural Studies, has been selected to take part in the Faculty Exchange this Spring. Dr. Osadnik will visit Innsbruck University, one of Austria's oldest and largest universities, for a month long teaching block in May of this year.

Dr. Osadnik specializes in Translation Studies, Theory of Literature, Contemporary Polish Literature and Cinema, Polish as a Second Language, Central and East European Cinema Publications. His research interests include History and Theory of Translation, Polish Language and Culture, Contemporary Slavic Literatures and Cultures, Slavic and Balkan Linguistics, Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, Semiotics, Central and East European Cinema.

By the terms of exchange agreement, Dr. Kurt Scharr, researcher at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Mountain Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, will also journey to Edmonton for a month long teaching stay at the University of Alberta in March 2014.
