Cascade Migration Project Continues to Move Forward

University Relations Digital team is continuing with the migration project.

Tim Schneider - 18 March 2020

As the impact from the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, the University Relations Digital team would like to provide an update for our colleagues across campus regarding the Cascade Miration Project.

Migration to Cascade Continues

As many of you are aware, our timeline for moving to the Cascade CMS has a scheduled completion date of November 2020. Thanks to the work of those who have already migrated and our migration team, we are well on target to meet our completion date.

As for most of you, our working arrangements have changed. However, our commitment to complete the migration has not changed. We are continuing with the migration schedule as planned.

The Migration Team will continue to provide support for the scheduled sites each week.

Professor Pages

As part of the Cascade Migration, we are also working with IST on the migration of Professor Pages to the IST Directory. This project is also moving ahead as planned.

The major change with Professor Pages is that we will delay the migration and launch of the new product. At this time, with professors and instructors shifting to complete online delivery of courses, we do not believe this is the time to make this change.

In the meantime, Professor Pages can continue to be edited in Sitecore, and your existing process for updating them can remain the same.

Over the next few weeks, we will reevaluate the situation and discuss better timing for the migration of Professor Pages. We also work on new details for the information session that was scheduled for March 18.

We realize that things continue to change very quickly. In addition to continuing with the migration schedule, we are also developing continuity plans to ensure our team and yours can continue toward completion.
