Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii)

The Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) represents an exciting, internationally recognized group of researchers working in the field of machine learning.

Amii supports and promotes machine learning research, and leading-edge scientific and commercial applications in the bioinformatics and interactive entertainment industries.

Centre for Intelligent Mining Systems (CIMS)

The Centre for Intelligent Mining Systems (CIMS) works on exploratory research in intelligent systems for the oil sands mining industry.

Our purpose is to research and develop novel techniques that integrate sensing with automated reasoning and human interaction to improve the performance of the surface mining process.

We believe that the application of intelligent systems technology to surface mining can minimize the long-term environmental footprint, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies.

Multimedia Research Centre (MRC)

The Multimedia Research Centre (MRC) studies online multimedia education, 3D modeling and visualization, human perception and human computer interaction, medical related projects, multimedia transmission and multimedia art/image processing.
