Here are this week’s updates for the U of A community:
Resumption of Community-engaged Research in Alberta
As research activities gradually resume, they all must follow the recommendations of Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, whether the research is conducted on campus or not. COVID transmission risks must be part of the ethical considerations for the approval of any community-engaged or human participant research. Learn more at the Research Ethics Office.
New Canada Student Service Grant helps students give back
Across the country, students and recent graduates are looking for ways to contribute to COVID-19 response efforts. Students and recent graduates aged 30 or under who volunteer with a charity or not-for-profit organization may be eligible to apply for the new Canada Student Service Grant. Learn more about the new grant or other financial assistance available to students.
Checklist to help screen your health before you go
The Government of Alberta continues to produce resources as part of their provincial relaunch strategy, including an updated guide for post-secondary institutions and a new COVID-19 Alberta Health Daily Checklist. The checklist tool helps potential attendees — such as those permitted to work on our campuses — self-assess before heading out to their destination.
Summer campus recreation - both outdoor and online
Campus and Community Recreation is offering a variety of fitness and recreation classes this Summer — both outdoor and online. Registration is now open. Browse the online Summer Recreation Guide.
Curbside Library Pick-up now available
For those who may have missed last week’s note, U of A Libraries have launched a Curbside Pickup service for physical items in the U of A collection. This service is for U of A students, faculty, and staff.
