Accessing the Garden
Walking
The Garden is designed to be enjoyed at a walking pace, with many meandering pathways and gardens just waiting to be discovered during a leisurely stroll.
Over 32 hectares (80 acres) of cultivated gardens, plus indoor showhouses and natural areas, means a lot of delightful ground to cover. For the most enjoyable experience, we recommend dressing for the weather, including comfortable walking shoes, a water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellant and a hat.

Riding the Bee Line
The Bee Line is a hop-on, hop-off tour service available every Thursday (Seniors' Day) June through August!
Welcome to the Bee Line, a free tram tour service that loops around the Garden with stops at key locations. Schedule varies and is subject to availability. The Bee Line is an unguided service, intended for patrons who would like some assistance getting between areas.
Other Accessibility Information
- An extensive brick pathway system makes much of the Garden accessible and enjoyable for wheelchairs and strollers.
- Some pathways have less-accessible surfaces (grass, wood chips, gravel, uneven surfaces, natural areas). Some areas have steep inclines or stairs where wheelchairs will require assistance.
- Accessible washrooms are available.
- Note: there are no carting services available. A limited number of wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis, however, we recommend that guests requiring mobility assistance come prepared with wheelchairs/walkers.
- Parking. There are handicap parking spots in Lots A, B and C. On busy days, guests may need to park in our overflow parking "Lot C" and walk back to the Welcome Centre. You are welcome to drop off elders or those with mobility challenges at the Welcome Centre first and then proceed to parking.
