The iiQM is a founding partner of the TRSI Hub, which is dedicated to advancing innovative and interdisciplinary research methodologies and methodological training in order to better address social inequality and promote social change. The Community University Partnership (CUP) is another partner to the Hub.

The iiQM works with the TRSI Hub to put on the annual Applied Social Research Methods Institute, an intensive multi-method training opportunity for graduate students and community practitioners. We also collaborate in developing the ongoing Methods Seminar and take a lead in developing and offering the Crafting Interdisciplinary Research Collaborations and Approaches (CIRCA).

Research partnerships with academics, government, and community organizations make for a rich research environment at the Hub. As a part of this partnership, the iiQM has co-led a series of research projects:

  • Advancing Social Research Methods and Training for Social Change - supported by a grant from the Kule Institute for Advanced Studies, this three year-project brought together a cross-disciplinary network of researchers, students, and community organizations around the question: Given the rapidly changing world of data, evidence, and method, how can we retool research methods and training to better support social justice, reduce inequality, and produce real change?
  • Developing the Transforming Research for Social Impact Hub - supported by seed funding from the U of A Strategic Research Initiatives Fund, this project establishes the TRSI as a site for innovative and impactful research training and methodological advancement.
