Coming in 2026

We are excited to share that a comprehensive set of 35 K–12 lesson plans will soon be available, designed to support and inspire Indigenous language learning in classrooms and community spaces. Developed by respected educators Dr. Trudy Cardinal and Fran Caudron, this collection weaves together meaningful language experiences, culturally grounded teachings, and practical activities that educators can use with learners of all ages.

At the heart of these lesson plans are 13 video teachings from Knowledge Holders, whose
voices, stories, and insights guide the learning journey. Featured Knowledge Holders include:
Eugene Alexis, Dr. Jessie Sylvestre, Dr. Violet Okemaw, Susan Sinclair, Dorothy Thunder, Dr.
Kevin Lewis, Tom Johnson, Molly Chisaakay, Dr. Elder Mary Omeasoo-Moonias, Belinda
Daniels, Dr. Darlene Auger, Sherryl Sewepagaham, and Cherith Mark.

Together, their teachings offer learners an opportunity to hear language spoken naturally,
connect with community wisdom, and experience the depth and diversity of Indigenous
knowledge systems.

This upcoming resource is being created with care, respect, and a deep commitment to
supporting the revitalization and reclamation of Indigenous languages. We look forward to
sharing it with you in 2026.
