Eligibility Requirements

Open to: All Faculties

Level: Undergraduate, Graduate

Undergraduate students can only participate in this exchange during their 3rd or higher year of a UAlberta program.

Students can participate in either the Liberal Arts Program or the Japanese Studies Program.

Participation in both programs requires that one of the following language criteria be met:

1) Have sufficient English proficiency to take classes offered in English, equivalent to CEFR B2, TOEFL iBT 72 or IELTS 5.5 or over, and have studied Japanese language for at least 50 hours.

2) Have sufficient Japanese proficiency to take classes offered in Japanese, equivalent to passing JLPT N2 or over.

Students wanting to participate in the Japanese Studies Program must also major in East Asian Studies.
