Pathologists' Assistant Program

The requirements for the course and practicum-based Degree of MSc with Specialization in Pathologists' Assistant are:

  • 21 graded units of course weight, a clinical practicum (24 units), and a research project (6 units):

LABMP 500 (3 units) Introduction to Human Disease
LABMP 593 (3 units) Systemic Pathology
LABMP 594 (3 units) Anatomic Pathology Techniques
LABMP 595 (3 units) Laboratory Management
LABMP 596 (6 units) Pathologists' Assistant Clinical Practicum I
Year 2
LABMP 597 (6 units) Pathologists' Assistant Clinical Practicum II
LABMP 598 (6 units) Pathologists' Assistant Clinical Practicum III
LABMP 599 (6 units) Pathologists' Assistant Clinical Practicum IV
LABMP 900 (6 units) Research Project

  • completion of a non-credit instructional methods course;
  • Academic Integrity and Ethics Training;
  • Professional Development requirement;
  • one oral presentation at LMP Rounds;
  • attendance at specified seminars.

Students must maintain a cumulative program GPA of 3.0.

This is a continuous 24 month program which includes a 16-month clinical practicum.
