In addition to our innovative programs for children, youth, and adults, The Steadward Centre offers opportunities for researchers interested in collaboration, for students in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta and from various universities seeking practicum opportunities, and for students and community members looking to volunteer within our programs.

Volunteering with The Steadward Centre provides a challenging, positive environment where you will be mentored by highly qualified staff and work alongside inspiring participants. Our hope is that by volunteering with us, you will become an advocate for inclusion and access to physical activity for all. Advanced volunteer positions may be available to returning volunteers.

As an academic centre, The Steadward Centre provides a diverse range of learning opportunities and volunteer experiences across all our program areas, supporting students in the areas of kinesiology, physical education, recreation, science, nursing, rehabilitation medicine and coaching. Students develop skills, put learning to practice and earn certifications to support their future careers in the area of sport, recreation and fitness.
