New lab supplies and equipment contract signed with Fisher Scientific

Upon the completion of a successful competitive bid process, the University of Alberta is happy to announce the signing of a new lab supplies and equipment contract with Fisher Scientific.

This agreement includes laboratory supplies, capitol scientific equipment, common chemicals and laboratory equipment services. The new agreement is valid from August 1, 2022 to August 1, 2029 and includes an extension opportunity.

The university benefits from this agreement in multiple ways, including:

  • Dedicated specialist product support within Edmonton
  • Direct access to the Fisher Canadian Elite customer service team
  • Access to tier 1 and generic brand products
  • Access to 2.5M individual stock keeping units (SKUs), with over 6000 locally inventoried items
  • System access through a punchout catalog within SupplyNet that includes detailed descriptions, preferred pricing and graphics
  • Cost savings - exclusive discounted pricing
  • Discounted equipment service rates from factory trained technicians
  • Offering of sustainable solutions
  • Purchases over $20,000 do not require multiple quotes or competitive bidding
  • The contract allows for purchases above the competitive bid threshold ($75,000) to be completed at the discretion of Procurement and Contract Management
  • No minimum order, shipping fees or fuel surcharges
  • Inflation control from pricing increases (initial 5 months of the purchase and sale agreement)

Access and ordering from the Fisher website is completed through SupplyNet, which includes embedded university pricing. All SupplyNet users should continue to use Fisher Scientific immediately to meet their needs relating to lab supplies and equipment.
