Kelly Spencer, '97 BA, '19 MA, Interim Vice-President (Advancement)


Kelly Spencer leads the university's Advancement portfolio supporting alumni relations and development activities across all five of the University of Alberta's campuses. With more than 280,000 alumni located throughout the province and around the world, the advancement team works to support the U of A's mission and values by engaging its community of alumni, friends and donors in the life of the university.

A proud alumna of the University of Alberta (BA and MA), Kelly joined the Advancement Services department as Associate Director in 2004. Since then, Kelly has held leadership positions in both the Advancement and University Relations portfolios, most recently serving five years as Associate Vice-President University Development and Advancement Services.

In addition to her university experience, Kelly has held roles in the technology sector including almost 6 years as a manager and consultant for a big four firm where she worked with clients in Canada and the United States to develop operational excellence.



Sean Price, '95 BCom, Associate Vice-President, Alumni Relations


Sean Price is a graduate of the University of Alberta and of the University of Notre Dame. In his current role, Sean facilitates the work of the University of Alberta's Alumni Council and leads the Office of Alumni Relations with the goal of creating mutually beneficial, lifelong connections between the institution and its students and more than 283,000 alumni around the world.


Previously, Sean spent 13 years with the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club, where he held multiple roles including director of marketing and vice-president of ticket sales. He was instrumental in the planning of the Heritage Classic outdoor hockey game, as well as marketing campaigns throughout the Oilers' 2006 Stanley Cup run. Sean was also vice-president of corporate sales for the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club.



Robert Moyles, '86 BCom,Executive Director, Advancement Strategic Communications

After graduating from the Alberta School of Business and MacEwan University, Robert Moyles took on roles with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association, Alberta Human Resources and Employment, and spent six years as the director of strategic communications with the City of Edmonton, overseeing the City's brand and reputation.

In his current role, Robert shares the stories and successes that are happening on campus because of philanthropy. With amazing scientific breakthroughs occurring regularly, and generous donors who are passionate about making a difference, every day brings meaning. "The work being done at the University regularly changes lives and it's great to be part of that."



Tyrel Brochu, '06 BCom, Senior Administrative Officer (Advancement)


As the senior administrative officer, Tyrel Brochu leads the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Vice-President (Advancement), including administration, co-ordination, and management of portfolio policy, programs and processes. He also oversees the execution of Advancement's governance responsibilities, including reporting to the University of Alberta Board of Governors, and he leads the planning and execution of portfolio-wide meetings.


Tyrel joined the Office of Advancement in 2007 as a records analyst in Advancement Records. He progressed through the organization by taking on increasing responsibility and leadership roles. Prior to his current role, he was the senior advancement associate in the vice-president's office and acting director of Prospect Research. Tyrel holds a bachelor of commerce degree from UAlberta.
