Dr Cammarata invited to give a plenary session at the Congress of Humanities and Social Sciences in Regina

Dr Cammarata's presentation will focus on optimal integration of content-language-literacy.

31 May 2018

For the second time in May, Dr. Cammarata was invited to give a keynote speech this time during the Canadian Association of Applied Linguistics Annual Conference in conjunction with the Congress of Humanities and Social Sciences that was hosted at the University of Regina from May 28-30, 2018.

His keynote presentation entitled " Towards optimal integration of content-language-literacy: Pedagogical challenges, new horizons and other academic musings" allowed Dr. Cammarata to share the fruit of his recent research work in the field of immersion and, more specifically, to discuss the pedagogical challenges related to this educational context.

During this conference, Dr. Cammarata also participated as the incoming editor of the scholarly Journal of Immersion and Content-Based Education (JICB) in a session entitled "Publishing in Applied Linguistics: A Conversation with Canadian Editors." This session allowed him to publicize JICB as well as the publication of a special issue soon to be released in the journal on the theme of teacher education and professional development for immersion and content-based education, which he and his colleague Dr. TJ Ó Ceallaigh are currently co-editing.
