Visit to Beth Ora Synagogue

Campus Saint-Jean Religious Studies students learned about Judaism and the traditions upheld by this local community.

20 February 2020

On Thursday, February 13, students enrolled in a Religious Studies course at the Campus St. Jean had the opportunity to visit the Beth Ora Synagogue here in Edmonton. They were welcomed by Rabbi Gila Caine and Mrs. Karen Gall. Our students learned about Judaism and the traditions upheld by this local community. Rabbi Gila answered many questions and she also shared her personal journey. In the picture, Rabbi Gila (left), our students, and Karen Gall are gathered around the Torah written in Hebrew on the traditional scrolls. In the past few years, several students from Campus St. Jean have had the opportunity to visit other local religious sites such the Al-Rashid Mosque and St. John's Orthodox Cathedral.
