Qualifications and Registration

Exam Eligibility

You must be attending a high school in Alberta to participate in the exam. If you have a strong knowledge of computing science, you may write. You do not need to have taken computing science courses.

Iverson Exam Registration

In addition to the individual competition, students may also write the exam in teams to gain experience in advanced problem solving!

This year, we also ask that teachers bringing their students register to help us be better organized and get information to you more easily. 

Exam Day Schedule

The 2019 Iverson Exam is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22.

Time Activity
8:30 am Arrive at the University of Alberta. Meet in the common area on the first floor of the Computing Science Centre.
9 am – 11:30 am Write the exam
11:30 am – 12:30 pm Lunch* and presentation
12:30 pm – 2:40 pm Activities with some of our research groups

If we have time after the exam and before lunch, we will have a post-exam discussion.

*Please note that you will need to bring your own brown bag lunch.
