The Alberta Diabetes Institute houses a number of Core Labs that offer their technical expertise and access to specialized equipment to on and off-campus users on a fee-for-service basis. The Core Labs are maintained by highly qualified personnel and feature state-of-the-art equipment.
The Core Labs offer a convenient, cost-effective option for researchers needing to outsource some of their research protocols or to access equipment/expertise not available in their own labs. Training services are provided along with expert assistance by the Core managers.

MolBioCore
Offering a comprehensive array of equipment and provides technical consultation and support for projects such as DNA cloning to make expression vectors, real-time PCR analysis, recombinant protein production and protein purification.
IsletCore
Serving the international scientific community by isolating, biobanking, and distributing human pancreatic islets and other associated tissues for research.
ImmunoCore
ImmunoCore is a campus-based fee-for-service lab that offers a cell and small animal Irradiator Facility and Flow Cytometry.
Nutrition Core Services
Offering specialized equipment and amenities such as dual energy x-ray absorptiometry, air displacement plethysmography, a fully-equipped research kitchen and a whole body calorimetry unit. The HNRU is a one-stop shop for clinical research that is open to researchers from around the world.
FoMD Cell Imaging Core
The cell imaging core facility located in the Li Ka Shing Centre in room 5-010B is a satellite of the FoMD's Cell Imaging Centre.
