After these two events, grads of the last 5 years will be invited to attend an event at the Muttart Conservatory, where you'll be able to practice your skills with friendly, high-profile alumni. Build Your People Advantage: Informal Mentors, Real‑World Networks

Date: October 15, 2026

Time: 12-1 pm MT (online)

This 60‑minute, interactive session explores how to find and grow informal mentorships and everyday networking opportunities that actually feel natural, not forced. You’ll leave with simple scripts, outreach ideas, and a 30‑day action plan to expand your connections and move your career forward.

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

Explain what informal mentorship is and how it differs from formal programs.
Identify potential mentors and networking opportunities in their current roles, alumni communities, and online spaces.
Use practical scripts and habits to start, nurture, and sustain informal mentoring and networking relationships for career growth.

Presenter:

Tamara Larson, '92 BA, is an educator, community leader, and mentor with a heart for servant leadership. Her work in the community focuses on supporting the growth of leaders and strengthening communities with the end goal of creating an inclusive, diverse, equitable world. Spending most of her career in the not-for-profit, arts and education sectors, Tamara works with all stakeholders and organizations to build a community that reflects our diversity and is truly inclusive.
