Groupe de recherche sur les Afriques et l'Amérique latine (GRAAL)
Who are we?
The Research Group on Africas and Latin America (Groupe de recherche sur les Afriques et l'Amérique latine - GRAAL) is a transdisciplinary network dedicated to francohphone research in Western Canada. Its vocation is to establish dialogue platforms among researchers, public policy officials and communities. It analyses major trends and transformations currently underway in the Africas and Latin America, and examines their impact on Canada and its policies.
Through meetings organised in 2018 between Faculté Saint-Jean and their African and Latin American partners, and local cultural communities, five interdisciplinary areas of research and dialogue were identified. These areas - in line with several UNESCO priorities and the Horizon 2030 sustainable development programme - will guide GRAAL's activities.
