There are lots of options for living accommodations in Edmonton, including living in residence or off campus. If you do not have your own vehicle, the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) is a great option for getting around the city. Many bus routes travel to the university, and the LRT (train) has two stops directly on campus. An ETS transit pass is also currently included in your student fees, making public transportation an affordable and convenient option.

Some students choose to pursue part-time employment opportunities on or off-campus. Research Assistant (RA) jobs are available through the department, and you will receive more information about this during your first year. Some students choose not to work during the school year. You may consider applying for scholarships or bursaries. The University of Alberta provides some options for financial assistance here.
There are lots of fun activities happening throughout the year! On campus, student groups regularly host events like movie nights, trivia, and arts and crafts. Campus Recreation also offers intramurals, activity classes, and access to the gym.
There are also many great areas of Edmonton to explore. Check out Whyte Ave, the Edmonton River Valley, or Happy Beer Street! You can also head to one of Edmonton’s many festivals throughout the year, like the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, Heritage Festival, or the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival.
