Recovery on Campus

Struggling with substance use or behavioural addiction and interested in recovery? You don’t have to do it alone.

What is Recovery?

Recovery from addiction is about more than reducing or stopping problematic substance use or behaviours (e.g., gambling, gaming, eating). It is an active, non-linear process of change where individuals improve their holistic health and well-being, build community and find a sense of purpose.

Recovery is more than individual change; it’s about creating communities and environments that support people across all recovery pathways, enabling them to reach their full potential.

About Recovery on Campus

Recovery on Campus is a peer-driven, inclusive program that supports students, faculty and staff across all recovery pathways at all University of Alberta campuses. It is an initiative that was created to provide social support on campus, reduce stigma through awareness and education and ensure that recovery is normalized, valued and celebrated.

If this initiative is something that interests you, connect with us by filling out the Recovery on Campus form.
