Joint Health + Safety Committee U of A
The Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) was developed in accordance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act. It makes recommendations for defined health and safety activities within or originating from the university's Edmonton campuses. The committee aims to ensure all U of A workers in Edmonton have the right to meaningful participation in health and safety activities pertaining to their work and worksite, including the ability to express concerns.
Through representation from both the workers and management, the JHSC will exchange information on health and safety matters and work to resolve concerns in a timely manner. For the purposes of this committee, health and safety include physical, psychological and social well-being.
