Important information about new group benefits providers
This message is for employees enrolled in university group benefits plans (prescriptions, dental, etc). If you are not enrolled in university group benefits, you can disregard this message. The university is moving to new providers for your group benefits in 2027. Your benefit plans are not changing, they will be administered and delivered by new partners.
NASA Collective Agreement Summary + FAQs
A new collective agreement is now in place between NASA and the university for the period from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2028. The parties are working on incorporating agreed-upon language into a finalized agreement. The agreement is anticipated to be published by late summer.

Gain Sharing Update
Based on Alberta’s Real GDP forecast for 2023, gain sharing will not apply.
New psychological services benefit coverage
Effective October 1, 2023, employee health plans will cover psychological services.

Changes to the Salary Restraint Regulation for non-bargaining unit members
The Government of Alberta has announced changes to the Salary Restraint Regulation and its impact on post-secondary institutions across the province.
Changes to general holiday pay
Based on Alberta employment standards and collective agreement changes, we are modifying how we apply general holiday pay.
Benefit cost rates have been updated, effective April 1, 2022
The university pays monthly costs for health coverage, income protection, and more. Rates are reviewed on an annual basis and any updates or changes to rates are effective and published April 1st.
Pension rates reduced for 2022
Reduced contribution rates for the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP) and Universities Academic Pension Plan (UAPP) have been announced. The reduced rates do not impact the pension benefits an employee will receive when they retire.
Faculty and staff child care reimbursement
Eligible faculty and staff can apply for reimbursement of 2021 child care expenses.
