SPH 598: Public Health Practice Experience
SPH 598 Public Health Practice Experience is a six-unit work-integrated learning requirement that includes two components: an Applied Practice Experience (APE) and an Integrative Learning Experience (ILE). This is an immersive placement with an external partner organization.
Terms
In winter and spring/summer terms. Some students can complete SPH 598 in fall term; however, you need to speak to your practice coordinator about this.
Prerequisites
All core courses and it is recommended to have all electives completed. Students may take up to three additional units at the same time as SPH 598.
workload
~ 400 hours over 11-13 weeks. While it is a ~35h/ week placement, the course is six units, so you will not be registered as a full-time student with SPH 598 alone.
When to take it
SPH 598 Field Practicum is completed in the final term of the degree.
