Vice-President (Research & Innovation)
The Vice-President leads the Research and Innovation team, providing leadership, support, and services across all five campuses to the university's large and diverse research enterprise. This portfolio fosters major research initiatives and partnerships, working closely with internal and external partners.
Chief of Staff
Reporting directly to the Vice-President, the Chief of Staff manages information, emerging issues, and major projects for the portfolio, in addition to overseeing the portfolio's administrative operations.
RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT + SERVICES
Led by Ian Winship (Associate Vice-President)
Research Development & Services supports and advances research through Research Administrative Services, Indigenous Initiatives, and a focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. It also provides Recognition Awards and Internal Funding, and manages the Canada Research Chairs program to attract top researchers.
Research Integrity Support
Led by Jason Acker (Associate Vice-President)
Research Integrity Support ensures responsible and ethical research by providing Compliance and Ethics Certification, overseeing Clinical Trials Monitoring, managing Human and Animal Ethics, safeguarding research practices, and addressing Legal requirements.
INNOVATION, KNOWLEDGE MOBILIZATION + PARTNERSHIPS
Led by Darren Fast (Associate Vice-President)
Innovation, Knowledge Mobilization & Partnerships translates research into societal benefits through Technology Transfer and Licensing, fosters Innovation and Partnerships by connecting researchers with external stakeholders, and is supported by Administration, Contracts, and IP Management.
Research Partner Network
Led by Julie Stephens (Director)
The Research Partner Network provides comprehensive research lifecycle support, assisting with the Research Application process, offering expertise in Grant Management, and supporting both Pre- and Post-award activities.
