Awards + Honours
What are research awards?
Research awards include prizes, honours, and fellowships offered by the University of Alberta as well as national and international organizations. They celebrate past accomplishments, and some, like fellowships, support future projects.
Awards are vital signs of excellence for any faculty member’s research program.
How can research awards help me?
Awards bring recognition to your work and amplify its impact, being a sign of sustained leadership in the field. Recipients may receive research funding, teaching and administrative time release, cash prizes, or prestigious memberships.
Awards are closely linked to increased success rates in grant applications.
The University of Alberta, one of Canada's top research universities, is proud of the vitality, quality and diversity of the research conducted here. We celebrate our many award-winning researchers and encourage all our faculty members to apply for research awards or to nominate a deserving colleague.
