Why study this program?
Dental hygienists play a crucial role in supporting dentistry practices and helping patients with their oral hygiene. Dental hygiene is a great choice for those who wish to pursue a career in health care, work in a people-friendly atmosphere and enjoy a flexible work schedule.
As a member of the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, you will also be involved in giving back to the community and gain experience working with non-profit organizations.
If you already hold a Dental Hygiene certificate from the University of Alberta, see the BSc (Dental Hygiene) post-diploma program
Why study Dental Hygiene at the University of Alberta?
The Mike Petryk School of Dentistry at the University of Alberta offers a fully accredited program, with state-of-the-art facilities including a full-service dental clinic. We also value giving back and community involvement. Our dental hygiene students become community partners early in their learning by volunteering with non-profit organizations, going on Global Missions, working with children and seniors and providing services to the public.
Jaimie is a graduate of the Dental Hygiene diploma program and is currently working on completing the degree program. She's also a member of the Pandas Rugby team.
