If you already have an undergraduate degree from an accredited university and want to take your education to the next level, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta is where you want to be. We offer exciting, challenging, and rewarding programs for bright and enthusiastic graduates.

ECE graduate students work with our internationally recognized faculty in world-class facilities, and can pursue Master of Science (MSc), Master of Engineering (MEng), or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. A joint Master of Business/Master of Engineering (MBA/MEng) degree is also offered in co-operation with the School of Business. Each program lasts an average of two years, but length can vary based on the degree and other factors.

Graduate students are an integral part of our department, acting as researchers and teaching assistants. The experience you'll gain will be directly transferable to future academic work, public research, or a career in industry. If you're ready to become part of our world-class team at the U of A, we encourage you to explore our graduate programs and see what the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has to offer.
