Exchange Programs

Study Abroad

Are you interested in learning a little more about the world while you earn your engineering degree? The University and the Faculty of Engineering have formal exchange agreements across Canada and around the world. The Faculty has established the following eligibility guidelines for students going on exchanges.

Eligibility Guidelines

  • Students must complete the first year of their discipline before going on an exchange.
  • Students must have a two term GPA of 3.0 to be considered. There may be additional requirements from the university you are hoping to attend.
  • For students currently in second year, final approval for an exchange cannot be given until the grades are available from the Winter term.

Students interested in exchanges should contact the Go Abroad Office, International Centre, 142 Telus Centre. Financial support opportunities are available through the Education Abroad Individual Award.

Once you have met the eligibility with the Go Abroad office, please contact Student Services with any additional questions at

Students in the Engineering Co-op program also have the opportunity to travel and learn internationally by accepting international Co-op placements.
