Overview

The Aga Khan University’s Global Mobility Programmes offer unique, carefully curated, and rigorous internship programmes focused on quality and skill-based experience. Interns will develop strong cross-cultural competencies, communications and critical thinking skills, and ethical leadership development.

Internship streams include Health Sciences, Environmental Science & Sustainability, Education, Cultural Development, Communications and Marketing, and Data Science & IT.

AKU offer On-Site and Virtual Programmes that will build your skills, expand your cultural horizons and establish a network of contact as you begin your professional journey.

What the program has to offer:

Significant and professional experience for international interns who are eager to experience new cultural, social and geographic environments.
Paid and unpaid internship opportunities for 8-12 months in East Africa, the Middle East and Central and South Asia. These unique career-related learning experiences will enhance your skills in international and intercultural settings under the mentorship of highly qualified professionals.

When Can I Go?

Terms Offered: Fall, Winter, Summer

Duration: 8 months minimum

Application period for Fall 2023 is May 5 - June 5, 2023

Assessments & Interviews take place June 5 - June 19, 2023

Onboarding & Payment of Program Fees June 19 - June 30, 2023

Internship Commencement September 4

Open to: All Faculties

Level: 3rd and 4th year Undergraduate, Graduate, Recent graduates

Internship Positions

Language of Instruction: English

To ensure that we maintain a focus on experiential learning and skills development, the Programme will provide students with 60+ hours of professional development led by AKDN master trainers and faculty, focused on networking, skill-building, and employability.
