The Exercise is Medicine on Campus student group is proud to launch their speaker series - Moving for Medicine. With the goal of fostering collaborative relationships and leadership on campus between exercise, health and other disciplines, the group will be bringing four Moving for Medicine speaker series events over the course of the school year.

The first event features Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation professor and Canada Research Chair in Physical Activity and Cancer Dr. Kerry Courneya with his presentation: "Is Exercise a Cure for Cancer?"

Dr. Courneya's research focuses on the role of physical activity in cancer survivorship including coping with treatments, recovery after treatments and long-term survival. Joining Dr. Courneya are two breast cancer survivors, Gayle Acton and Brenda Haug, who will share their experiences with exercise during and after chemotherapy.

This event is open to all UAlberta staff, students and faculty, as well as the general public. A Q&A session will follow the presentations.
