UAlberta Geophysics Students Well Rewarded

This fall, four University of Alberta geophysics researchers were honoured by the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists. Congratulations to Helen Yam, Nadia Kreimer, Khalid Miah and Karl Rohraff.

Three University of Alberta graduate students and one postdoctoral fellow with the Department of Physics geophysics group were recognized at this fall's the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG)'s 2011 Geophysics Awards:

Helen Yam, Best Student Oral Presentation

Nadia Kreimer, Runner-up Student Oral Presentation
for "Evolution of a New 5D Seismic Volume Reconstruction Method: Tensor Completion versus Fourier Reconstruction," by Nadia Kreimer and Mauricio Sacchi.

Khalid H. Miah, Best Poster
for "Fractional Fourier Transform in Coherent Noise Attenuation."

Karol Rohraff, Best Student Poster
