APEGA FUND IN GEOLOGY AND GEOPHYSICS

Awarded to full-time or part-time student(s) with superior academic achievement in the Bachelor of Science with Honors or with Specialization in Geology or Geophysics. Recipient(s) will be selected on the basis of academic standing.

APEGA SCHOLARSHIP IN GEOPHYSICS

Awarded to a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of Honors Geophysics or Specialization in Geophysics. Recipient will be selected on the basis of superior academic achievement.

BARRY HARROLD MEMORIAL AWARD

To be awarded annually to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering the third or fourth year of studies in Physics. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing.

CRESCENT POINT ENERGY SCHOLARSHIP IN GEOLOGY AND GEOPHYSICS

Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement continuing in a Bachelor of Science with Honors or Specialization in Geology or Geophysics. Selection based on academic standing and demonstrated excellence in Geology or Geophysics field school experience(s). Recipients are eligible to receive this award only once during their academic career, and the award will alternate between departments annually.

BP CANADA ENERGY GROUP ULC UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP IN GEOPHYSICS

Awarded to students with superior academic achievement entering the final year of a Bachelor of Science with Honors or Specialization in Geophysics, or a Bachelor of Science with a major in Geophysics Selection based on academic standing, demonstrated leadership, and demonstrated community involvement.

DAVID and Marilyn Swadron Scholarship in Physics

Awarded to students who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents with superior academic achievement enrolled in the second, third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree with Honors or Specialization in Physics in the Faculty of Science. Selection based on academic standing.

DAVID K ROBERTSON AWARD IN GEOPHYSICS AND GEOLOGY

Awarded to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering the third year of a BSc Specializing in Geology or Geophysics. Recipient will be selected on the basis of passion and talent in their field of study, demonstrated leadership, participation in extracurricular activities, and academic standing. Preference will be given to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who expects to live and work in Canada. Student may not be in receipt of another major award. This award is renewable contingent upon satisfactory academic standing and enrollment in the fourth year of a BSc with Specialization in Geophysics or Geology.

DOUGLAS M SHEPPARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded to students with superior academic achievement proceeding to each of the second, third and fourth years of full-time studies any of the following Specialization programs: Physics, Computational Science (Physics), or Astrophysics. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement.

ENCANA/OVINTIV GEOLOGY AND GEOPHYSICS SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded to student(s) with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of study for a Bachelor of Science with a major in Geology or Geophysical Sciences. Selection based on academic standing.

FRANTA HRON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

To be awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of studies in Honors Geophysics. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing.

GOLDEN BELL JAR UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP IN PHYSICS

Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the fourth year of studies in any of the following Honors programs: Physics, Mathematical Physics, Applied Physics, Computational Science (Physics), or Astrophysics. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic achievement.

HELEN BILTEK LEADERSHIP AWARD

Awarded to a student who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in Honors Mathematical Physics or Honors Physics in the Faculty of Science. Selection is based on academic standing. Preference given to students with demonstrated leadership in student activities.

JA JACOBS SCHOLARSHIP IN GEOPHYSICS

Awarded annually to the student obtaining the highest standing in the final year of the Geophysics Specialization Program.

JA JACOBS SCHOLARSHIP IN PHYSICS

Awarded to the student obtaining the highest standing in the final year of any of the following Specialization programs: Physics, Computational Science (Physics), or Astrophysics.

JANE-ANN ROBERTSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IN PHYSICS

Awarded on the basis of superior academic achievement to a student entering the second year of any of the following Honors programs: Physics, Mathematical Physics, Applied Physics, Computational Science (Physics), or Astrophysics. Consideration will be given to the personal qualities of the individual. Recipients must be Canadian Citizens.

KENNETH NEWBOUND MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IN PHYSICS

To be awarded annually to a student with superior academic standing entering the third or fourth year of studies in honors or specialization Physics. Recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing. First preference will be given to students pursuing a concentration in the photonics and condensed matter physics stream of the Applied Physics program and second preference will be given to a student pursuing a concentration in plasma physics. Should no suitable candidate be found, the award may be given to a student who meets the other criteria.

PATHWAYS TO PHYSICS AWARD

Awarded to students who identify as a member of a Visible Minority and/or who are First Nation, Inuit, or Métis people of Canada in accordance with the Constitution Act, 1982, Part 2, Section 35(2) and/or who are a gender minority with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in the second, third, and fourth year of a Bachelor of Science in Physics in the Faculty of Science. Selection is based on academic standing and indicated financial need. Part-time students are eligible for this award.

RASC EDMONTON CENTRE - DOUGLAS P HUBE AWARD

Awarded to a student who is a resident of Alberta with satisfactory academic standing entering the second, third or fourth year of study in any Honors or Specialization in the Department of Physics, or general Science program with a major in Physics. Selection based on demonstrated leadership or community involvement in the field of astrophysics. Preference given to a student who has not previously received this award.

SHELL CANADA PRIZE IN ENVIRONMENTAL AND EXPLORATION GEOPHYSICS

Awarded to the student enrolled in an Honors or Specialization program in Geophysics with the highest mark in GEOPH 438. Recipient is ineligible to receive the Shell Canada Prize in Seismic Data Processing.

VEGA PRIZE FOR ASTRONOMY

To be awarded annually to undergraduate or convocating students achieving superior academic standing in various Astronomy or Astrophysics courses. Preference will be given to students continuing their education at an accredited postsecondary institution. This endowment also funds the Vega Graduate Scholarship in FGSR.
