Sustainability Awareness Week

Sustainability Awareness Week: October 21-25, 2019

Sustainability Awareness Week has been one of the University of Alberta's largest event series since it launched in 2008. The whole campus community gets involved in highlighting campus sustainability initiatives, social and environmental issues, and building connections beyond campus. Events include very popular walking tours, hands-on workshops, speaker panels, film screenings and explorations of local food.

Highlights from 2019

Running from October 21-25, 2019, each day focused on a different theme inspired by the U.N.'s Sustainable Development Goals.

Tuesday Land & Life
Wednesday Sustainable Cities and Communities
Thursday Climate Action
Friday Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions

Events were presented by campus partners, with an emphasis on research and/or academic opportunities within the field of sustainability. Community groups, campus partners and student clubs helped kick things off at the Sustainability Fair on Monday.
