Pediatric oncologist Lucie Pecheux is the principal investigator for the University of Alberta and is the co-clinical site lead of Terry Fox PROFYLE’s (PRecision Oncology For Young peopLE) Adolescent and Young Adults Node. The Terry Fox PROFYLE research project is transforming the way they treat children with cancer by using genetic analysis of tumour samples to identify specific molecular targets of therapy.

Research in the Department of Pediatrics puts an emphasis on collaborative projects ranging from treatments for children with cancer to assessing environmental factors that affect the health of our children. We have researchers working everywhere, from basic science to clinical trials to policy development. Each area is critically important to the success of translating research knowledge into practice, and transferring this knowledge to the bedside.
