International Visiting Student Program

A variety of start and end dates means you can choose the schedule that best fits your study plan at your home university.

The first part of the IVSP is 2-4 months of intensive English Language training in order to develop and build language skills necessary to succeed in a Canadian university.

Take regular university courses with Canadian and international students. It may be possible to transfer academic credit earned at UAlberta to a program of study at your home university.

You will receive personalized support from the time you apply until you complete the program. Individualized advising appointments and seminars guide you to success at UAlberta.

Live in a campus residence or homestay with other international or Canadian students, or with a local homestay family. Social and cultural events are regularly organized so you can enjoy your free time.

Meet local community members, gain valuable skills, improve your English, and make an impact! IVSP advisors can help students find volunteer opportunities while they are at UAlberta.

The IVSP personalized services set the program apart from a more independent study abroad experience. The cost for these services and the English language courses is packaged into the IVSP program fee.

Live and study with Canadian and international students in a multicultural environment.
