Clinical Education

Clinical education is where coursework meets real-world practice. Under the mentorship of a registered speech-language pathologist, CSD students apply the knowledge, skills and behaviours they've learned in class to assess and treat people with a wide range of communication and swallowing needs.

Clinical experiences are built in throughout the program, preparing students for professional practice in English. Students complete both internal and external placements in a variety of settings, including:

• Private practices
• Rehabilitation facilities
• Schools
• Preschool programs
• Community health centres
• Acute care hospitals
