Are you a University of Alberta faculty member interested in hosting a research intern?
Thank you for your interest, but at this time, we are not currently accepting more research projects for the 2027 cycle of this program.
When research project collection is active, we encourage and accept research projects from all colleges and faculties, across all academic disciplines, at all University of Alberta campuses.
Why submit a project to host a research intern?
- Participant is fully funded by the Araucaria Foundation in Brazil; no financial contribution is required from the host professor to participate
- Foster collaboration with professors at a student's home university in Paraná, Brazil and strengthen international research ties
- Support graduate student recruitment for either yourself or your department
- Share your skills and talents to mentor and guide global researchers in training
- Research project is showcased at a summer research symposium (with your permission)
- Administrative and program assistance provided by staff in International Student + Visitor Services (ISVS) , part of International Education and Enrolment (IEE) (formerly University of Alberta International).
- This includes ISVS facilitation of the immigration invitation/FVCA, guest CCID creation, guest ONEcard fee, and campus registration Person of Interest (POI) processes
- Settlement services such as a mandatory intern orientation session and an optional 1-hour guided campus tour
- Invitation to ISVS Activities & Events for your visiting international research intern to join and make new friends from around the world!
