- With this program, you will learn how to create, modify, and understand a chart of accounts; complete and check accounting entries using the chart of accounts; write and explain financial results such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets; and master accounting software.

Course descriptions
- EXCSJ 6300 - Creation, Understanding and Analysis of Financial Results - 39 hours: This course introduces students to the basic principles of the accounting cycle, including journal entries, accrual entries, closing entries, trial balance and financial statements. Accounting topics for goods and services, for controlling cash activities, and for current assets and fixed assets are introduced. Generally accepted accounting principles are covered throughout the course, in relation to specific areas.
More information on the Continuing Education website. - EXCSJ 6301 - Using Bookkeeping Software - 39 hours: This course introduces students to the concepts of digital literacy. It presents applications useful for accounting. In addition to mastering accounting software (such as Quickbooks), students will be introduced to online document sharing (such as DropBox and G-Drive) and made aware of data security issues. Prerequisite: EXCSJ 630
