The Enterprise Skills Development Program (PPCE)

Train, expand your network, and shape Alberta's economic future

A French-language workplace skill development program at Campus Saint-Jean

The Enterprise Skills Development Program / Programme de perfectionnement des compétences en entreprise, or PPCE, is a strategic initiative by Campus Saint-Jean at the University of Alberta. Funded and supported by the Government of Canada, the Government of Alberta, and the University of Alberta, this innovative program bridges the gap between academic training, talent integration, and the real needs of the labor market.

A Win-Win Model

The PPCE brings qualified candidates and Alberta employers together through a structured pathway:

  • Targeted Training (1–2 weeks): Practical workshops delivered at Campus Saint-Jean to master Alberta’s workplace culture and sharpen sector-specific professional skills.
  • Hands-on Placement (approx. 12 weeks): Real-world immersion within a company or partner institution to apply your learning and benefit from expert mentorship.

Sectors Covered in Previous Cohorts

  • Education: Francophone and French immersion schools (administrative support, teacher assistants, integration aides).
  • Hospitality & Tourism: Strategic partnerships with local hospitality networks.
